Weapon Handling

Hold
• Lift it gently.
• Treat it gracefully Hold it sincerely
• Bring down slowly and
• Put down most gently
Barrel Facing
• Face Barrel Downward
• Upward or
• Towards the Target only
Unload
• Always unload your weapon before you leave it

To Avoid Accidental Fire

• Remember accident occur only with ‘Empty Weapon’ (Person assuming weapon as empty may fall in accident with it)
• Keep breach open except you are at firing station
• At firing keep your weapon with Safety Flag in Barrel (as visible sign of empty weapon)
• Load Your Weapon after command is announced by Range Officer
• Always keep your finger straight and off the trigger until you are ready to shoot
• Always keep the gun unloaded until you are ready to shoot
• Never point the gun at anything you don’t want intend to destroy
• Be sure of your target and what is beyond it
• Learn the mechanical and handling characteristics of gun you are using
• Always use proper ammunition
• Be sure the barrel is clear of obstructions before loading and shooting
• If your gun fails to fire when the trigger is pulled, hold shooting position for several seconds; then with the muzzle pointed in safe direction, unload in a safe direction, carefully unload the gun
• Don’t rely on the gun’s safety to keep it from firing
• Be aware of your surroundings when handling guns so you don’t trip or lose your balance and accidently point and/or fire the gun at anyone or anything.

Essentials to Enhance Shooting Skills

Physical
• Do warm-up and Stretching Exercise daily.
Posture
• Ensure correct ‘shooting Posture’ for Balance and coordination
Holding
• Practice holding for stability and strengthening the set of mussels involved in shooting
Refluxes
• Improve ‘Hand Eye Coordination’ through reflux exercise
Concentration
• Concentration for Calming and one pointed state.
Breathing Exercises
• Optimize your ‘Energy level’ and stability through and Breathing Exercises
Nutrition
• Take proper and regular diet.
